Registration Policy

- Annual registration fee of $37 for the school year is automatically processed on September 1st.
- There is a two-month minimum for all private lessons. One month notice from the first of the month is required to discontinue any classes.
- Tuition must be paid by automatic debit via debit or credit card. Payments are processed automatically on the 1st day of each month.
- Cash payments are optional and only accepted for Quarterly payments. Full payments must be made prior to lessons.
- A late fee of $10.00 will be accessed automatically on the 5th of every month on unpaid balances. Accounts not cleared by the 14th of the month will be subject to an additional fee of $35.00. Any accounts that are open over 30 days are considered to be delinquent. Any accounts over 90 days unpaid will be considered cause for legal action.
- Students will not be allowed to continue classes after the 7th of the month whereby tuition is unpaid.
- To reinstate active status, balances must be paid in full.
- Students with open accounts are not eligible to participate in recitals, trips or any school activities. ABSOLUTELY NO EXCEPTIONS!
- To ensure that payments are processed accurately, please remember to keep payment information updated.
Refund Policy
- Registration fees are non-refundable.
- No refunds are given for missed classes
- Dance participation fees are non-refundable
- Music recital fees and tickets are non-refundable
- Music and Dance Withdrawals must be done in person or in writing and will not be accepted over the phone. Withdrawals must be done at the school office with the office manager and NOT with the teacher. Failure to submit a withdrawal request in writing may access fees to your account for which you will be responsible for.
Hold Policy
If you are going on vacation or need to suspend lessons for any reason, our hold policy allows you to hold your time slot to avoid it being booked while you’re gone. $25 per month holds your time slot.
Communication
- Parents/guardians are required to drop off & pick up students in the school’s lobby. Parents must notify the front desk of any different arrangements.
- All notifications will be communicated via automated voice calls, text messages, emails or memos available at the front desk. Please keep contact information with us updated at all times.
Makeup Policy
- There are no individual makeups for missed classes. Unlimited Group schedules are available at the beginning of each month. You may opt into as many group makeup lessons as you wish, as long as you are registered for monthly lessons.
- Our program is year round (September 1st thru August 31st). Students not attending private classes for specific periods MUST notify the front desk at least 2 weeks prior.
- There are no make-up classes for group lessons. (This applies to all students in Dance and MFT)
- The school is closed on major holidays and as outlined on our school’s calendar. No individual make-up classes are offered for these days. All our events and activities are posted on our website jamnewyork.org. School closings are advised via email and text.
- Joe’s Academy of Music reserves the right to cancel workshops and group lessons that do not meet their minimum enrollment requirements or other extenuating factors. Full refunds will be issued for workshops and group lessons canceled before or by the first session. Refunds for workshops and group classes canceled after the first session will be prorated based on the sessions offered not the students attendance.
Recital Policy
- Music recital:
All students must register for each recital by the deadline in order to participate. No Exceptions. Participation deadlines will be communicated via email, text and memos at our front desk.
- Dance recital:
Dance recital participation for the year is $250. (September-August) This fee covers ONE costume, makeup for recitals and picture day.
Any additional costumes are $75 each. Tights, shoes, and hair is not included in the participation fee. Dance attire not included in the participation fee will be communicated to parents by staff and/or dance instructors.
Waiver/Release Policy
WAIVER/RELEASE FOR COMMUNICABLE DISEASES INCLUDING
COVID-19 ASSUMPTION OF RISK / WAIVER OF LIABILITY / INDEMNIFICATION AGREEMENT
In consideration of being allowed to participate on behalf of Joe’s Academy of Music summer program and related events and activities, the undersigned acknowledges, appreciates, and agrees that:
- Participation includes possible exposure to and illness from infectious diseases including but not limited to MRSA, influenza, and COVID-19. While particular rules and personal discipline may reduce this risk, the risk of serious illness and death does exist; and,
- I KNOWINGLY AND FREELY ASSUME ALL SUCH RISKS, both known and unknown, EVEN IF ARISING FROM THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE RELEASEES or others, and assume full responsibility for my participation; and,
- I willingly agree to comply with the stated and customary terms and conditions for participation as regards protection against infectious diseases. If, however, I observe and any unusual or significant hazard during my presence or participation, I will remove myself from participation and bring such to the attention of the nearest official immediately; and,
- I, for myself and on behalf of my heirs, assigns, personal representatives and next of kin, HEREBY RELEASE AND HOLD HARMLESS (Joe’s Academy of Music) their officers, officials, agents, and/or employees, other participants, sponsoring agencies, sponsors, advertisers, and if applicable, owners and lessors of premises used to conduct the event (“RELEASEES”), WITH RESPECT TO ANY AND ALL ILLNESS, DISABILITY, DEATH, or loss or damage to person or property, WHETHER ARISING FROM THE NEGLIGENCE OF RELEASEES OR OTHERWISE, to the fullest extent permitted by law. I have read and agree to the conditions stated above:
Media waiver and release
I hereby authorize Joe’s Academy of Music to use my (or my child’s) photo and/or information related to my experience with Joe’s Academy of music. I understand that this information may be used in publications, including but not limited to electronic publications), audiovisual presentations, promotional materials, advertising, community presentations, letters to legislators and media and/or other similar ways.
